Go to tradesviz.com/import, select "Export/Manage" on the right side, then select "Existing uploads" and then select your trading account and click on "Delete" under each import with the name "TradesViz".
In the Trades table, shift-click on each row (trade) you want to delete and click on "Group apply" and then scroll down till you see "Delete trades" checkbox - check it and click on "Save changes" or right click on a row and click on delete trade. Important: if the trade came from broker auto-sync or a file import, deleting it alone does not permanently block the same broker execution from being imported again. TradesViz de-duplicates incoming executions against executions currently in the database using execution timestamp plus symbol. If you delete the execution, it is no longer present for that check. To prevent it from affecting P&L/statistics without reappearing, edit the existing trade/execution quantity and price to 0. If you want it removed completely, delete it and move the auto-sync connection Sync from date to after that trade date before syncing again.
Go to tradesviz.com/accounts/tradingaccounts and click on "Clear trades" on whichever account you want to delete all trades from.
To explore a trade, click on the target icon on the left side of any row in the trades table.
There are multiple ways to explore a trading day. You can click on the calendar icon on the right side of each row of the "Day grouped" table under "Trades table" tab or you can simply click on the numbers in each cell in the monthly calendar view or when in trade explore view, you can click on the blue calendar icon on the top right to view the day on which you executed the trade.
Yes! Just like trade explore, you can add notes/tags/images and even trade charts to each trading day.
To split executions or combine a subset of executions into another trade, simply explore a trade, shift-click on the executions in the executions table and click on "Group apply". Now select the preferred type of splitting you want to achieve and click save changes. If you need a video tutorial, take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/87eJ3kSIoAw?t=327.
In the trades table, shift-click on trades to select the trades you want to merge (must have same underlying) and then click on "Group apply" at the top. Now scroll down till you see "Merge selected trades" option and click it. Now click on save changes. If you need a video tutorial, take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/87eJ3kSIoAw?t=327.
Yes. You can add any ticker in TradesViz via the Manual add trade option. If the symbol is not recognized, then the PnL calculation will be done as if it is a stock.
From the trades table, click on the target icon (on the left side of the row) of the trade you want to close. Now click on the "Add" button at the top right section of the trade explore page and add in the closing execution details. If you have already added this as a separate individual trade, you can use the group apply function to merge the 2 trades.
Brokers keep fills from before a split at their original share count, so a stock position you held through a split never closes in your journal and its P&L looks wrong. Fix it with Adjust for Stock Split:
- Open the trade in the trade explore tab. In the Executions section, choose Actions > Adjust for Stock Split.
- Check the split date and ratio. When TradesViz finds the split in its market data, it fills both in for you. Otherwise enter them from your broker's notice: a 1-for-10 reverse split is 1 new share for every 10 old, a 2-for-1 split is 2 new for every 1 old. Only dates while you held the shares can be picked.
- The fills from before the split are ticked for you. The preview shows each fill's quantity and price before and after, and how many trades the position becomes.
- Save. The ticked fills are scaled by the ratio, so cost and P&L do not change, and the position is split into separate trades wherever it went flat.
You can add executions by exploring a trade and then clicking on the "Add" button in the trade explore tab. Closing a trade is simply adding an execution in the direction opposite to the existing position of the trade.
To edit an execution, you need to first explore a trade to open the trade explore tab and then clicking on the pencil icon on the left side of any of the executions in the executions table to edit the execution attributes.
Go to Settings > Tags (/accounts/settings/#tags-tab), type or paste your tags into the New tag box (one per line or separated by commas) and click Add. The tags are saved right away and show up in the tag dropdown when you tag trades, even before any trade uses them.
This is a two step process:
1. Explore the trade for which the name has changed and add a new execution (you can copy the existing execution also) with price and quantity as zero. Edit the original execution price and quantity to be zero - this is so that this old "dummy" trade does not affect our analysis.
2. Now explore into the NEW trade (with changed symbol) and add the original execution details (price, quantity, date etc.,) here. This way, the trade will be analyzed correctly and the symbol/name change will be handled properly.
If you do not see your plans section or advanced metrics in trade explore, makes sure you click on "Advanced" toggle button at the top right corner of the trade explore view. This will show all your plans and advanced metrics in the trade explore view.
Use Python, scripts or your own applications to read and search your TradesViz accounts, trades and executions, build custom reports, and manage notes and tags. With the required permissions, you can import supported executions, edit journal entries, update trade risk settings, split or merge trades, and delete selected journal data. Execution imports currently support eligible USD US stocks and fixed-multiplier USD futures, not every asset supported by the website.
Yes. Connect a compatible ChatGPT, Claude or other MCP client to the hosted TradesViz MCP server using browser sign-in; no local MCP server or REST API key is needed. Ask your assistant to summarize recent trades, compare results from retrieved trades, find trades by symbol or tag, or save a review note. Editing and other journal changes require the matching permissions. Connector availability depends on your AI client and workspace settings.
You select the trading accounts and permissions each API key or MCP connection can use. Start with read access and grant editing or deletion separately when needed. Day notes, day tags and general journal notes require a separate opt-in. You can revoke access from the API/MCP dashboard. These tools manage your journal; they cannot place, change or cancel broker orders. AI responses can contain mistakes, so review proposed changes before approving them.
