Day Tags
User-defined qualitative labels attached to entire trading days for environmental, mental-state, and process tracking.
More Details
What are Day Tags?
Day Tags are the day-level analogue of trade tags. Instead of labeling a single trade, a day tag describes the entire trading session the conditions, your state, the environment, the rules-adherence layer that applies to every trade taken that day.

Why Day Tags Exist (and Why Trade Tags Aren't Enough)
Some attributes don't belong to a single trade they describe the environment the trades happened in:
- Market regime (
trend_up,chop,high_vol) - News/event days (
fomc,cpi,nfp,opex) - Mental/physical state (
focused,tired,tilted) - Process adherence (
followed_plan,broke_rules,overtraded) - "No-trade" days (still meaningful, still taggable)
Mixing these into trade tags pollutes trade-level analytics and makes it impossible to ask "how many days did I trade FOMC?" cleanly.
Same Mechanics as Trade Tags
Day tags share the full feature set:
- No pre-registration type and save
- Auto-suggest from previously used day tags
- AND/OR/NOT/wildcard filter syntax (
fomc,high_vol,regime_%,!tilted) - Independent filter pill in the global filter bar (separate from trade tag filter)
Trade Tag vs. Day Tag Decision
| Question | Use |
|---|---|
| Describes one specific trade's setup/exit? | Trade tag |
| Applies identically to every trade in the session? | Day tag |
| About your state for the whole day? | Day tag |
| About a market/news event defining the day? | Day tag |
| Strategy or pattern name? | Trade tag |
| Did I follow rules / overtrade today? | Day tag |

Example
End-of-day routine: tag today with `regime_trend_up`, `vol_normal`, `focused`, `followed_plan`. After 20 days, the day tag group summary reveals: `tired` days = -68% of net PnL.
