Futures P&L, explained

Long P&L = (exit − entry) × point value × contracts − costs. For a short position, reverse the price difference. Tick value = tick size × point value.

Example: a contract worth USD 2 per point moves from 100 to 110. Two long contracts produce USD 40 gross profit. Subtract USD 4 in total costs to get USD 36 net profit. This is a hypothetical price example.

The result is a trade estimate, not a margin requirement or liquidation calculation. Costs and currency conversion use the values you enter; FX is a reference assumption. Read CME's explanation of futures P&L.
