Positive divergence lit up the options flow screener on Aug. 7, with $DDOG featured after triggering a high divergence threshold on the 30 minute timeframe over the last day.
The setup points to a meaningful disconnect between price action and underlying flow positioning.
The signal broadened across technology and growth names, with $AMAT, $BA, $BABA, $CLS, $COIN, $CRWD, $CRWV, $DELL, and $FIG also registering high positive divergence.
When positive divergence appears across multiple names at the same time, it can highlight a shift in the character of the tape before price fully reflects it.
Options flow on Aug. 7 was dominated by concentrated positioning in $ET and $MSFT.
$ET led the tape with a $36M Jan. 21, 2028 $13 call sweep buy, followed by repeated buys in the same contract ranging from $9.1M to $18M. The repeated strike and expiry combination signals notable conviction.
$MSFT also lit up with significant flow, including a $28M Sep. 18, 2026 $525 call sweep buy alongside multiple large call sweep sales across October 2026 and December 2027 expirations.
$SNDK added heavy two sided activity, including a $34M put sweep sale and subsequent put buying.
Repeated high premium sweeps at the same strike and expiry can indicate concentrated positioning rather than isolated activity.
$ET, $MSFT, and $SNDK remain firmly on the radar as this tape develops.
