In this post, we will explore how to pair your TradesViz account with Gate.io.

This post assumes that you have read the basics about auto importing in TradesViz.

Once you select your trading account and broker as "Gate.io" in the trade auto-import page, a popup box will appear when you click on the "Connect account" button.

You will need to provide your API Key, Secret Key, and select your preferred API endpoint region. You can also choose whether to import spot transactions, futures transactions, or both.

The purpose of this blog post is to guide you to get the API key and secret from the Gate.io website. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Log into your Gate.io account
  2. Hover over your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Click on "API Management" (you can also navigate directly to https://www.gate.io/myaccount/api_key_manage).
  4. Click on "Create API Key".
  5. Under "API Key Permissions", make sure to enable the following read-only permissions:
    1. Spot Trade - Read
    2. Futures Trade - Read
    3. Wallet - Read (optional, for balance info)
  6. Important: Do NOT enable any "Write" or "Transfer" permissions. TradesViz only needs read access to your trade history.
  7. Do NOT enter any IP restrictions 
  8. Complete any required 2FA verification to generate the key.
  9. After the above steps, you will see your API Key and API Secret. Copy the API Secret immediately as it will only be shown once.
  10. Go to TradesViz auto-import page, select "Gate.io" as your broker, and enter the API Key and Secret Key in the connection popup.
  11. Select your API region:
    • Global (api.gateio.ws) - for most users
    • Hong Kong (api.gateio.hk) - for users registered on the Hong Kong version
  12. Check the boxes for the transaction types you want to sync (spot, futures, or both) and click "Connect".

Note: This connection only gives us READ-ONLY permission to your account to access your orders/trades. We do not have any other permissions. We do NOT have any trading/transfer of coins/assets permissions.

That's it! We support both spot and USDT-margined futures transactions from Gate.io. Your trades will be automatically synced and tagged as Cryptocurrency in your TradesViz account.

You will now be able to see trades like BTCUSDT, ETHUSDT, etc., in your TradesViz account with full charting and analysis capabilities.
